Kenny the Doberman is a living proof that there is hope for miracle and that we should never give up on fighting in life. Despite being one step away from death, Kenny fought hard and didn’t give up on his life.
In 2013, a kennel gate fell on Kenny’s neck which left him paralyzed in his four legs. After this happened, Leslie Gallagher, founder of Two Hands Four Paws took him. Kenny couldn’t move on his own or urinate and was considered as a lost cause.
Despite the difficulties, Leslie Gallagher still had hope that it can get better. Something told her that Kenny could fight this. She wanted to give him a chance to get cured and so happened. She and her staff worked hard to help him recover. However, things got worse since during the physical therapy Kenny had cancerous tumors and underwent a surgery. As if that wasn’t enough, while recovering from surgery, Kenny ended up getting pneumonia. Kenny was going through many challenges.
However, Kenny didn’t give up. He fought and so did Leslie together with him. After raising $9,000 to cover the medical costs, Kenny went through another surgery. After this surgery, Kenny started getting better and his physical therapy started showing results.
Kenny also went through extensive massage, laser and hydrotherapies, physical activities and so on. Kenny made it. Slowly and gradually he began to regain function in his legs. After several slips and falls he was able to stand up. He managed to get the control of his bladder and bowels.
A miracle happened one day, Kenny started running. He ran to his caretaker and gave her a kiss. Now Kenny can get around by himself and loves playing with the other dogs and the caretakers. This dog is showing us that if you believe and don’t give you can win over any disease or any struggle in life.
